The idea of femininity was explored by some designers, and the question of what does it mean to be a young woman? Floral patterns and shades of pink were left behind in favour of finding new notions of femininity. Winter clothing was also covered, with new blends and colours set to take over from traditional winter fashion – beret’s and baggy trousers seemed very popular. Power dressing as well was fairly prominent, with textural elements displayed by Raf Simons at his debut Calvin Clein presentation.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not these new fashion choices become a part of the zeitgeist. Whilst on a catwalk these new designs may receive applause or popularity, it is the sales of the inspired products that will cement new fashion elements place in stores.
